Maslow Capital has announced the launch of a Brownfield Remediation Funding Programme<\/strong>, in partnership with Homes England<\/strong>. This innovative initiative is designed to unlock underutilised land for sustainable housing development. Aligning with the Government\u2019s „brownfield-first“<\/strong> strategy, the programme prioritises the regeneration of previously developed land, protecting greenfield sites and increasing housing supply.<\/p>\n

The programme invites applications from developers seeking financial support for brownfield remediation projects \u2013 including activities such as the demolition of derelict structures, remediation of contaminated soils, ground stabilisation, treatment of groundwater, and the stabilisation and management of ground gas. This initiative combines Maslow Capital\u2019s expertise in structuring complex real estate finance solutions with Homes England\u2019s mission to accelerate housing delivery. By bringing together public and private funding, developers will gain access to essential financial support, extensive land regeneration experience, and deep market insight to unlock underutilised sites.<\/p>\n

As of 2025, there are 36,450 brownfield sites<\/strong> across the UK, according to the latest government data1<\/sup><\/a>. These sites could accommodate between 1.23 million and 1.46 million homes<\/strong> if fully remediated and developed, representing a significant opportunity to meet the government\u2019s housing targets while preserving greenfield land. By redeveloping neglected urban sites in areas with severe housing shortages, this initiative supports broader goals of housing affordability and community revitalisation. Brownfield remediation is also essential to the UK\u2019s net-zero ambitions, as it decontaminates soil, reduces groundwater pollution, and restores ecosystems \u2013 creating safer, healthier environments for new communities while removing barriers to private development.<\/p>\n

The programme will be led by Maslow Capital\u2019s Lending Solutions division<\/a>. This team of real estate and land remediation experts specialises in unlocking complex sites, offering funding solutions for project recapitalisations, loan purchases, and lending against complex property developments.
