Maslow Capital was pleased to fund this state-of-the-art luxury student accommodation scheme in Guildford. The scheme which has a GDV exceeding €122.4 million will help deliver on the much-needed increase of quality student accommodation that Guildford requires to meet demand.
Work took place on the site of Guildford College’s former technical and construction school– with the scheme providing 533 high-quality bedrooms. Guilden Park continued Future Generation’s emphasis on student mental well-being, with the high-quality units being complimented by their signature Sky lounge overlooking the surrounding gardens and a fitness boutique courtesy of Les Mills. The scheme which reached practical completion in 2021 was accompanied by 1030 sq m of student amenity space, 17 car parking spaces and 316 cycle spaces.
Guildford is home to four major educational institutions – the largest being the University of Surrey (UoS), a major university that is ranked 19th in the Times Good University Guide. The University alone has a total of 14,923 full-time students, with only 37% having access to university halls or privately owned PBSA. This imbalance between demand and supply of student units is why Future Generation’s latest project will be fundamental to easing demand in an area currently underserved by Purpose Built Student Accommodation.
This will be Future Generation’s third PBSA scheme to enter construction. Similar projects in Sheffield and Colchester, that were also supported by Maslow Capital, are currently under development and are both due to complete before the start of the 2019/20 academic year. Guilden Park takes the total value of Maslow Capital loans across the three schemes to in excess of €120m href=”https://maslowcapital.com/products/student-accommodation/”>Visit our dedicated student accommodation development space for further student schemes we have funded.
